  • WOW Gordon, Unlike me, you really got this thing painted and back together in a timely fashion. It looks fantastic! I agree with John, the stance is really nice! How did you get the front to squat down so low? Is your interior now complete?

    • Thanks John and Justin. I have a set of dropped 2 1/2" spindles on the front. Its a bolt on part on early A's. Easy to take off if you want
to go back to stock. Gordon

      • Gordon,

Its lovely, the colour is so nice on a 356 it shows off the curves so well. Interior looks great too, as Justin says you have really done well getting that all together and looking good. I agree the slight alteration to the front to lower it,suits the car very well. I don't think you will revert.

        Well done

        • I completely agree with Roy's comments!
Your approach does not detract from the cars orignal appearance, but adds to its beauty!
Last evening I took the Roadster to a local 'Cruze In' at a Hardees in our Chester, VA area and a few nice cars came in from other shows.
Two reminded me of your lowered front end.
          One a 1957 T-Bird and the other a 1951 Merc.

          • Runs down the road pretty good.
A few more bugs to get out but no bad.
            Thanks, Gordon

                • Congratulations Gordon!!!!

It turned out bitchen!!!!!!!! Love those wheels and it has the right stance!! Absolutely beautiful! It really is inspiring to watch one go from project car to stunner! What are your plans; is there a specific 356 or Porsche show you and this car will be attending? I hope I'll see this car one day in person. You are a true inspiration for all of us DIY's out here who have yet to finish their cars. Just a fantastic job and I'm very happy for you! Enjoy the drive for all of us!

Gordon, I have a few questions,if you don't mind. I have a 56 too but the steering wheel my car came with is different. Am I having the wrong steering for my 356

                      • Gordon and Murugesh,

Gordon your car looks fabulous. Those Rudges look so nice. Feel proud you did that all yourself even the interior

Well done indeed, enjoy! You are now going to keep it Gordon?
                        Roy

Murugesh, your wheel is correct but you are missing the 'horn ring ' that shou;d be in the middle part of the wheel that you can see on Gordon's car. You must have a horn so I presume if you press the centre plastic Porsche emblem in the middle you get the horn to work??
But ... normally the ' push emblem' allows you to 'flash your headlights'

The horn rings are delicate and often are broken msybe thats why its been removed?
