Do you have a base seal for test fitting before you commit to the bucket lip spacing from the body? You'll want to mock all that up with the trim ring...

You don't have to call it quits just yet. Take a run down to your local hardware store and buy some muriatic acid. It will clean all of those pits 100%....

Oh, I misread that, you're TiG'ing not MIG welding. Different animal, sorry about that...

Interesting experiments John. Definitely, 22 gauge is really thin and tricky to MIG weld. A balancing act to apply it hot enough for decent penetration...Last edited by JTR70; 01-04-2021, 01:32 AM.

Its a repop receiver so you might want to shave a little off the top for some needed clearance. Also depending on the angle and position of the lock posts...

The tunnel flanges do sit a touch lower than the longitudinal flanges so the floor does run up hill slightly at the sides. Don't worry about the floors...
