Not the best use of the word 'vertical' but I think clear enough given the drawings. Thanks, nonetheless, for pointing this out!

"vertical shaft" seems ok to me. Maybe use of word "King". Anyway, I think people get the idea.

I think Jackshaft would be a more functional description but I am in favor of using Konigwelle

Where does it not match? We believe that we are correct.

You have Payne owning and racing 550-0077, I believe it is 550-0020

We will check, of course, but we think we are correct.

                      Hello Everyone,

Andrew again raises such important questions. I originally thought that Payne and Dietrich drove 550-0020. However, we did correspond with a former owner who had bought his car (550-0077) from Tom Payne. This is one of the few owners who could tell us the chassis nr. of his car. He said that when he bought it, he was told that the owner was Payne and that Suzy Dietrich had owned and raced it.

                        Thanks for the info Vietta.

In regards to the race listing on P630 should that be 8 June 1957 (you don't have a listing for that date) with Carl Haas in 550-04?

If 550-0077 is red, on the 19th May 1957 (3 weeks earlier) Suzy Dietrich is driving a silver spyder which you have also listed as 550-0077

On 30 July 1961, Suzy Dietrich raced 550-0077 - I believe this is correct. I do not think Payne sold 0077 to Suzy. On 20 August 1961 Bowman raced 550-0020 which is correct.

                              Jacques,

Yes, baring is not bearing. Still, I think people get the idea.

In summary so far as to your comments---I have asked Rolf to look at the photo identifications you question. He is on holiday but we will resolve. As to the Konigswelle in English as vertical shaft...there is no perfect English word. We think what we have is ok.

                                re 24106:

Are you saying we missed a 1957 race for 550-04 and Haas?

As to 550-0077 and 550-0020 we remain at the moment anyway, ok with our conclusions expecially given what the former owner told us.
