  • Hi there,

What year is the GT car number 110?

    Comment

    • Every indication it's a 1959 lightweight except for one thing-it has a shine down license plate light. I owned and restored one so I am extremely familiar with its detail and will provide additional information shortly. note that it has six louvers in the deck lid and has vent windows. what is that central backup light?? just above the exhaust and those depressions on the side where the bumper might wrap around? very odd... by the way even though it is very hard to see it appears that the carb shroud is correct for a '59.1958 lightweights had clamshell (top and bottom) shrouding. Photos later...RR

        • Thanks much for the quick response. As I have requested, if anyone comes upon a similar image of a 57 GT in a race scene, I would be appreciative. I own a 57 GT. Thanks.

            • I think my last post went into cyberspace but the previous post covers most of what I said other then that is a 356B Carrera not an "A", which explains the rear and side detail. Note entrant is Porsche KG...

              • Antonio Pucci and Huschke Von Hanstein were real friends
They raced the Targa Florio at least 3 times together always on a 356 Carrera
In 1958 car race number 26 they finish 6th

For the small history Antonio Pucci did win the 1964 Targa Florio with Colin Davis on a 904

                      • In those years the Porsche factory was always short of funds, and to save money the Carreras were driven on the road from Stuttgart to Sicily and back! Usually they were piloted by the top works team mechanics...How things have changed!

                            Richard,

I was under the impression that the shrouds on the deck lid stayed the same between 58 and 59 and that the only difference was between speedsters and coupe's as the angle of both lids relative to the ground is different. Do I interpret you correctly when you see that the '59 shrouds were different and in '59 the shrouds which bolted to the carburetors were omitted?
