Attached is a photo I took in 2012 in Amagansett (East Hampton) of the very same car. Note details including the larger rear reflectors required by Swedish regs. It belongs to Jerry Seinfeld, surprise, and we had a long discussion about it, as I had a 59 GS GT myself, and then he and Alec Baldwin hopped in and drove off with a wonderful blast from that Spyder exhaust...
It's unrestored and in wonderful condition.
Being a fairly simple guy, Carreras never had much appeal to me. Appreciate yes, but remember that "simple guy"... Carerras are difficult. But how can anybody think those Spyder exhaust systems look cool? Is kobby cool?
Craig, "beauty is in the groin of the beholder"...or some such saying.
Actually, it helps to be intoxicated by bean oil fumes from ANY exhaust to see their beauty, especially a 4-cam, but wear earplugs if you go for a drive of more than about 5 minutes. I was in Texas years ago...where about ALL drives are fairly long, and with one of those exhausts on an open 356, the other guy in the car and I got hoarse within 15 minutes by trying to 'talk' to each other.
Bragging of course, but I once had a B GS/GT silver Coupe that I bought for $675...untouched and complete, less engine. A story like Justin tells....."It was just sitting there....."
In my price range then....and now.
