You are doing a lovely job, its going to look great. Good choice of red interior and oatmeal carpet. Thats so easy on the eye and seems to tie in well with the 50's and early 60's.
Also I wish I had put on such a nice selection of base coats like yours. Blocking that should be a nice experience.
I've always been partial to PPG products myself because thats what my father used. I can remember all the old cans of Ditzler, Delstar, Delthane etc. growing up. I went back to using PPG DP40 epoxy on this final go around. Ah memories. Looking forward to more updates! Justin
Sprayed a couple of cards to check the paint color and it is looking pretty close.
Hard to get exact because of the new base clears seem to kick up the metallic a little more
Intense. Tell me what you think.
Thank you, Gordon
Gordon, Are both cards sprayed with the same shade or do you have two different tints? There is some shadowing and angle of light maybe making the one on the right lighter than the left one. As far as the pics go the one on the left (darker) looks to be closer to your door. Is this what you are seeing in person? Justin
Justin, Both cards are sprayed with the same mix, the only difference
is one has 3 coats of base and one has 4.
I wanted to see how well it covered. Sometimes it is hard to tell
until you spray the clear. The Aquamarine blue met. looks light in the bright sun.
I finally had to break down and take the T-1 off the rotisserie so I could get to the front and
Rear a little better. I am still in the block sanding mode but I can see the end in sight.
Here are a couple of shots of the car on the ground.
This is a cart I made 3 paint jobs ago, it will do for one more time.
Thanks Gordon
Thanks for the update Gordon she's looking great! Getting it off the hoist is such a milestone isn't it? Congratulations! This body has not suffered collision damage? Will you be shooting the final color with panels installed or seperate? Man, Porsche, Rolls Royce this appears to be a very high end shop. Looking forward to seeing it in some color! Justin
