[quote="gkw" post=7751]Mark,to give it that vintage look, just have me help put the headliner
in because when I was done with mine I had smudges all over it.
        Gordon

Gordon, I would love the help. It would surely get done much faster. My current headliner, which is not the original, is actually the same material as the 69-73 911, which is currently not available.

Thanks Gordon, I also see they list Auquamarine as a metallic so that may be the difference.

I like the visors. Are those stock or aftermarket?

                    Hey Gordon,

I just saw this! Looking great! That brand new Y&Z Harness is beautiful! The new sunvisors are very nice too but they sold you Pre-A "bent-window" feet/bases. Did you have trouble mounting these??

Here's a direct side by side comparison. Larger and more flat parralele mount flange for pre-A bent window. Smaller and more pitch angled 356AT1 mount flange. The visors themselves are identicle (starting about about 1953ish; earlier frames were different) but these bases changed.
Who did you buy these from?? They are very nice copies especially the plastic inserts; they look spot-on in color and edge detail.
Great work Gordon! Thank you for the update!! Justin

                    • Thanks Mark and Justin
I fabricated them off a picture off the net. I used stainless scrap around the shop for metal.
I located the original screws and helped with the size.
Used the picture below for the measurement . Justin, put a tape measure on those smaller feet.
                      Thanks Gordon

                          • Gordon, I am so impressed that you fabricated those from just a picture and from stainless steel no less! Very tough to work with. Love to see more detailed shots of them. Did you buy the inserts from NLA?

Mark, your car is a 58XXX chassis # so it should have these visors. Not the later T2 padded ones.

Here's a T1 base. Hope this helps. Justin

                            • Gordon,

whatched your handmade sunvisors and fell in love as it is the same thing I wanted to do for my 115368 (please see here: http://porsche356abcgt.com/forum/6-Hot-Rod--Modified-356/9061-115368-into-outlaw-build.html).

Would love to get in contact about those in person, perhaps I have a chance to get those made by you for me?

Please let me know, you can email me through gaedtke.thomas@gmail.com

                              Thanks in advance!
                              Tom

                              • Thanks Justin, The visor body's are made from green acrylic. harder to work with than lexan but the correct color and edges polish nicely.
A little tricky to get a good crisp bend on the edge but doable.

Mark, while your headliner is out you can see if there are two or four
mounting screws for the visors. (two for acrylic visors)

Sorry Tom, the visors were a one time challenge, thanks anyway. Gordon
