    Hey Gordon,
I can 'almost' remember when I was 'almost 70'!
You have a lot of years to go to enjoy your 356.
    I'm 78 working my way towards 79 on 12/31/13.

    Dick

It really does look beautiful Gordon! Are you done cutting and polishing now? Are you ready to begin reassembly? Headliner in first I would assume. Man I am jealous; I gotta get my tub into final paint already!!!! Thanks for posting and congratulations again on a job well done!! Justin
          BTW: cute little helper!

I used the dogs bed to lay on in the headliner fit. Jake wanted to join me in the car.

Looking good Gordon! Its really taking shape fast! The dog bed was probably alot nicer to lay on than that tunnel. Who did you purchase your headliner from?? Some of the liners I've seen are made from too course a grain material so I'm on the lookout for one smoother and closer to the OG stuff. You really are in the sweet spot of a resto; enjoy it! Justin

                  Thanks Roy.

Justin, the headliner came from K&H European auto upholstery.
Much less grain than the one I took out. I don't know if it was original or not.
                  Thanks again, Gordon

Thanks Gordon, any chance of a close up detailed shot of your liner so I can see the grain?
                    Nice work! Justin

Thanks Gordon! Thats actually pretty good. I ordered one from Staddard a couple of years back and the grain was so heavy that it really looked more correct for a VW bug. I of course sent it back and have been passively looking for a more correct product. Justin

Gordon/Justin what is the difference in the Auquamarine and Aetna blues? I have looked at the charts and found pics but its really hard to tell.
                          Thanks

Gordon, where did u get that HL? Unfortunately, I burned a hole in my old one and now have to replace it. Wonder if its possible to Pre-age a liner to the nice yellow amber look of my old one? Since my car is not going to be shinny like yours a new liner will look, well, too new. I have heard of Tea staining things before.

                              Hey Mark,

Most of my original head liner especially the drivers area including the sun visor pull down side has the amber colour more pronounced than the other area's. I believe as the last owner smoked that caused it. I tried once to remove it, nicotine seems to stick like glue never that successful. You are right apart from smoking 40 a day in the car tea might well work.

in because when I was done with mine I had smudges all over it.
