    • Thanks for the update shots Gordon! I love your coupe! The color and the wheels are just beautiful! The rest of cars are of course just as cool! I am so impressed with your discipline to actually finish your project cars and so many; You inspire me! Thanks again! Justin

      • I have been rebuilding the 912 engine that came with the T-1.
Its been a few years from when I worked on an air cooled engine but it
is coming back to me. (it was supposed to be in good shape , not so )
I did a little work on the rear suspension. Thanks, Gordon

        • Goredon,

The 356 looks really nice. Are those real rudge knock offs? As Justin says the wheels look super.

          Great collection

          • Thanks for the update Gordon! I see your running the later compensator spring. Is that from 356 enterprises? Are you running a softer torsion bars too? Its looking great! Justin

            • Thanks Roy,
The wheels are a set of Bord Coddington's. They have a CNC cut center
              and a spun outer.

Justin,I designed it from looking at a VW camber spring. A stroll through the local junk yard jumping on a few springs to find the right one.
Then built everything else in the shop.I have a lot of adjustment
with it. I think it will work really good. Thanks Gordon

              • You built it, Very cool!!!!!! Can you show a detailed shot of the center cradle mount? Nice work, you have inspired me to maybe build my own as well.. Thanks! Justin

                • Nice work on the battery box. How did you make the raised panels? Are you worried about battery contact and what are you doing to protect against that? You have excellent taste in autos

                  • Mark, I made a simple set of dies out of some scrap 1/8 aluminum with about 1/8 clearance to press the raise in the panel . the angles inside have a rubber flap to
prevent grounding out. here are a couple of pics.

                      Thanks, Gordon

Justin, I will take a picture of the camber spring and post the next time i am in the shop with the camera. Gordon

                      • Thanks Gordon that would be great! The trunk looks nice! Where did you get your tarpaper from? The Motor looks like its getting close, the case itself looks like been polished? Did you smooth out the sandcasting or is it just the photo? Keep up the great work! Justin

                        • Justin, The engine is just super clean and in the sun.
The soundproofing is called torch down and is a roofing product
and matched what was in the car real close. The after market
material had way too much grain.
Thanks Gordon (It is a cold 9 degrees this morning here)

Gordon, how about a detail of that tar touch down and maybe a brand name. Have heard of touch down product, but imagine there are many brands and textures as well. Looks very nice.

                            • Gordon,

Very nice under front hood job. Looks great. I know when you take flash photos of interior itmes it always seems to show the defects you never normally notice. I must say the finish of the insulation is so much better than on my still original hood interior.

You will notice on the photos when they cut the aperture for the chassis number to show it was done badly. The guy with the gun spraying the underbody protection left a surface you can never ever clean properly its far too splattery. I did deliberate removing all that and re-applying new underseal but then that would show up all the other remaining items they did at the factory. Then I would have to also had to buy a new battery cover ( your one looks nice )

                              Well done there.

                              • Roy, If my trunk compartment looked that good I would not have touched it.
                                Great pictures, Thanks

Mark, sorry it took so long to get back to you but better late than never.
You can see the underside of the material in the background and on the large pieces
I used the blow torch to soften it up and the small ones the heat gun, also the adhesive
I used. I sprayed two or three coats of semigloss enamel on the outside to get the proper sheen.
