  • Next day was open
The ones leaving around stayed at the hotel to enjoy the swimming pool, my friend Franck and myself awake early to drive back home with some fresh air
Everything was going smooth until the clutch cable broke at the entrance of Rodez a small city in the center of France
Impossible to find a garage open a Sunday and I had no choice than to call my insurance company to send me a lorry

      • To day my car is back in my garage and repair ready for new adventures

        Now some comments :

Since the first edition in 2011, 550 replicas have always been in number as in France replicas owners are not welcome in official Porsche meetings and this meeting give them an occasion to meet and to compare their cars
        According to R

        • According to Renaud it exist around 50 off 550 replicas in France, which is not bad taking into consideration that according to the French law it is impossible to obtain a VIN plate for a replica
There is two way to by pass this interdiction :
Register your car in a foreign country (Italy, England, USA) with less contraignant laws than France but you need to have an adress in the foreign country

The other way is to buy on the black market a VW buggy VIN stating your car is a modified VW 2 seats no roof
This will work as long as you did not have an accident

Anyway despite all the above difficulties 550 replicas are more and more research
At least 3 off the 550 replicas present had their cockpit plated with aluminbium thin plates to hide plastic as per example

          • Another consideration is that less and less real 356 owners take their cars out in such meeting

                    • All the attendants were very pleased with their week-end and the organisers were sollicited to renew the experience
The Porsche 912 Club members decided to renew the experience every 2 years
Last week-end, September 16th/17th ythis meeting was organised for the second time
Due to the success of the first meeting, nearly 180 cars send their reservation
Unfortunately the warm and nice weather expected turn into a cold rainy and windy week end and finally only 115 courageous took the chance to show their cars in the rain

                      • We Porsche guys had the chance to have their cars parked on the tarmac so we only had to face rain
The VW guys were less lucky having to display their cars in a large sandy field right along the sea who had problem to absorb the heavy rain
