Gunnar Jeanette is leading the GHI (more recent cars than the VHC) competition groups with his 3.0 RSR

but is in fact second overall in the competition groups 1mn 23 seconds behind the GT 40
In the VHC a Swiss Lotus Elan is now 3rd

and a French Shelby Cobra 289 4th
The Porsche 2.0 L are slowly gaining places
Bertrand and Anne Penlae are 7th

with 2 more Deutch 911 2.0 at the 9th and 10th places

To day Saturday April 28th, last day of the Tour auto
Cars are on their way from Aix en Provence

to Nice on the Mediterranean see

No race track to day only 3 special stages one being the Mont Ventoux Hill Climb
If you look at the Aix en Provence pic, you see on the top left this famous Mont Ventoux who culminate at over 2000 meters


Yesterday classifications so a few changes
In the VHC competition the GB GT 40 is still leading with more and more advance (7 minutes oahead of the 2nd car who is now the Swiss Lotus Elan race number 211 as the very fast GB Jaguar had to retire

The 3rd overall is the blue Cobra 289


After a second Elan 4th, we find now the French 911 2.0 race number 193

followed by another German 2.0 race number 195

In the GHI groups Gunnar Jeanette is still leading

with another Belgium 3.0 RSR behind

Indeed both cars are now 4 minutes behind the GB Ford GT 40

At the indice de performance the courageous 356 PRE A is still leading with a 15th overall in the VHC group

and in the regularity a French CG (small sport car with a plastic body over a Simca 1000 chassis)is leading

with a Maserati a the second place

The 218 Tour Auto is now over
The final stage from Aix en Provence to Nice saw a great change
The GB GT 40 who was leading by several minutes break its gear box in the last special stage and was unable to continue
Second big change after the JGB aguar E type who give up the day before on the Paul Ricard race track




These two retirements allowed the swiss black 1965 Lotus elan to win the VHC group

In this same VHC group the second car was the blue French Cobra 289

with a 14th overall
The truth oblige me to say that this car, except the body, has fery few left from the original
In particular the engine although it is still a Porsche engine deliver over 140 BHP nbut as you may see without loosing its proverbial fiability
