            • I got mixed feelings about this livery. Which I think looks great but is promoting a product that's kills people.

              • Hi everybody

Been quite silent on this forum these last past weeks being fully occupied by sailing and the obligation to move in a new house after my mother death (fortunately only one mile off the one where I was born and spent a large share of my life)
Due to the above I missed the 2018 Le Mans Classic
It was really sad as this year the 137.000 paying visitors (indeed largely over the 200.000 including the non-paying guests and competitors familly and friends)
benefited (on the contrary of the 2016 edition who had been cold and rainy) of a fantastic blue sky all the week and of course all the 3 days of racing July 6th/7th and 8th

                • Luckily through some of my friends (and particularly Jean Claude Grangeon) who were lucky enough to attend this event I got a lot of pics I am pleased to share with you
Porsche was celebrating their 70th anniversary with a very strong presence of cars from the Stuttgart Museum
some famous ex-racing cars as this 911 3.0 RSR

                    • Sorry I made a typing error in the above post
Of course you all know that the second Helmuth Polensky victory in the Liege Roe Liege was 1954, not 1964
To be complete Helmuth Polensly helped by Werner Schulter already won Liege Rome Liege in 1952 at the wheel of Gilberte Thirion 356 SL-02 061 with the famous Belgium plate 1211

                      • For those who don't know all the classic cars accepted in the Le Mans Classic event are split in 6 age groups
Each group will race several times over the 3 days event
In between the races the long (13.5 Km) race track (the same used for the Le Mans 24 hours race) is open to parades open to the attending makes clubs)
                        The Porsche parade was fabulous

                        • This year due to the 70th anniversary the Porsche car park behind the spectators
stands inside the race track had its 1.000 places reserved to Classic Porsches (from the 356 to the 993)
All the modern ie water cooled Porsches had to park outside the race track

                          • The 1.000 places of the official Porsche clubs car park were fully booked a long time before the event
Porsche owners were very happy to be accepted in Clubs car park as the one of the original flat four car club amongst old VW, Kombis and Karmann Ghia
