Toyota clever have only achieved 1st and 3rd times leaving 2 Rebellion Oreca LMP1 at the 2nd and 4th place

I think that the WEC have shot themselves in the foot. They had made LMP1 so expensive to enter, build a car for, that only one manufacturer is left! If Toyota don't win ...

I think the interesting battles will be in LMP2, GT Pro/Am. Lets see if Porsche can do better in the GT race. I seem to remember Ford winning this recently and with a newer car.

What is the difference between GT Pro and AM? I thought it was only the drivers? With AM only being allow 1 Pro driver? However, the best lap times are significantly different? Are the Pro car the latest factory team cars with all the enhancements while the AM car is last year or start of this year with no factory support?

The 86th edition of the 2018 Le Mans 24 hours race is over since yesterday 3 PM european time
After 19th unsuccessfull attempts to win this race, Toyota left alone by Audi and Porsche acchieve 1 and 2 overall for their 20th entry
Even if Porsche are no longer entering their 919 Hybrid race car after 3 wins, entered 10 off 911 RSR to celebrate their 70th anniversary


4 off bright new 911 RSR in the GTE Pro category (professionnal pilots exclusively) + 6 off last year 911 RSR in the GTE AM (at least 1 gentleman driver pilot)

After a very tough competition with Ford Porsche achieved 1 and 2 with car race 92 (the pink car) and 91 (the Rothmans tribute car)

The above video showing the battle between Porsche 91 and the Ford for the second place in the GTAM category, was filmed after over 20 hours of race
At the end Porsche win (as always !)
The battle between Porsche and Ford was ferous during most of the race
The winning Porsche (the Pink Pig car race number 92) had the chance to stop one lap before the blue Rothmans tribute car and the Ford for refuelling while it was in 3rd position
Whilst the blue Porsche and the Ford stop in the pit one lap after, the race was neutralized by 3 safety cars after a serious crash and trapped in the pit until the second safety car arrive
Doing so the Pink Porsche was behind the first safety car and the Ford and the blue Porsche behind the second safety car, gaining more than one minute advance
The performancde between these 3 cars beeing counted in hundred of seconds, the Pink Porsche was never catch by the two others
