  • You don't seem to have a listing for the November 16, 1958 feature race at Dunnellon Airport. Roy Schechter in his 550A #27 and Joe Sheppard in his 550A #2.

    • Hello Eveyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to thank Andrew for the information about November 1958 Dunellon. We have added these results for Schechter and Sheppard to the database.

      Regards,

      Vietta

      • Steve/Vietta,

Do you have knowledge of an accident or body upgrade..?

        • Andrew,

We are not ignoring you re the 550-05 front end question. Literally, we have worked on this issue/question for years. And, it is a big source of frustration even today.

We are working on the detailed timeline, remain convinced of what we have reported but continue to research for later publication.

As to 550-04 and "buckle"----I do believe it may had well had a bolt on buckle. The photo is great. We'll advise what we have.

            • Hi Andrew,

Re your 550-05 analysis and 07 comment:

Based upon a whole lotta stuff including the timeline and Fassinello and triangulation and what we know re 550-07 (cannot have gone to South America)----I'm sorry to say that I disagree with the analysis.

That said, my words are just that until we get the whole story together. We're working on it and enjoy and aprreciate greatly your help, comments and views.

                • On P354 with the listing details of 550-0072, you have a note as 'rebodied'. The car has never been rebodied

                  • Seeing that some photos have recently surfaced of Hank Robb driving 550-0023 in the FM race on 31 July 1955 at the Midland Empire Sports Car Races, I think it would be right to assume the listings of McAfee, Levy and possibly other drivers are incorrect as McAfee is driving a different car at Torrey Pines in October 1955

                    • Hello Everyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to upload this photo. We continue to work on 550-05 either in Brazil or in European races during the summer and fall of 1954. Can anyone help us identify an approximate date for this photo of Jorge Lettry seated in 550-05 in Brazil?

                      • The photo would have to be pre 3 Jan '54 as the car still has the full windscreen. It is strange with all the lights, as you would only use the lights and full screen for rallies or 24 hour events. In the stuck photos, there are no signs of the lights or brackets - difficult!

                          • Maybe----but the article notes later purchase which would eliminate 05 as the Agadir, etc. car.

Both photos may be Fassenello and the full screen may just have been swapedby Stuck so it could be earlier.
