Also on this pic taken during the race showing car number 39 and 47 stopped at the Porsche pits
550 013 (47) has his boot open and clearly the engine is a Fuhrmann
550-08 was the reserve car---mostly used to get takeout food.
550-11 raced. Note that this car burned to the ground later at March Field near Sacramento. A "replica" (I am being gracious) is thought to exist now in Europe.
Apparently the link I have given doesnot open the video in direct
You have to go down the site and click on the Porsche return to le Mans video
Now some pics
Unfortunately I was using a bright new camera
I thought I knew how to make it work and in fact not as when I went back home I found that I had scratch all the pics off the camera
So no personnal pics the ones I am posting belong to my friend Bruno
To start with 550 012
Apparently
this car belong to the Porsche Stuttgart museum
It is the one who raced le Mans 1954 and then was sold to Jaroslav Juhan
He finished 4th with it at the 1954 Carrera Panamericana and first at the 1955 Buenos Aires 1000 kilometers race
A 908 on the Le Mans Classic stand to promote the 2014 event to be raced in July this year (Le Mans Classic is an historic event organized once every 2 years only open to cars having entered le Mans up to 1973)
