You are right for 2 reasons :
Robert Buchet lookalight than Alexandre Gacon but Robert was a little more I should say in French "massif" (heavier)
Claude Storez and Robert Buchet were the best friends of the world from 1956 to 1959
When Claude killed himself at Reims on his Zagato Porsche Robert thought to stop racing but came back on his decision and continued to race until 1969
Herewith an extract of Claude Storez palmares which show several victories of the te
Thank you Gerard - for the history and the photos. And I do say that Buchet does look like he could be Gascon's big older brother!

Do you happen to have any photos of Claude Storz at Reims in his Zagato Porsche?

Thank you Trevor! Nice photos of Spyder #? (Andrew, Steve?) I'll be it surprised you how small of a car it is in person. Thanks again for posting these! Justin

BTW: Glad to see you have the photo loading thing all dialed in now!
I've seen a couple in person, so I wasn't totally surprised by the size but I had forgotten how purpose built the car is. Really amazing! I would love to get in it and go for a drive, but wouldn't we all

Yeah I got the picture loading thing dialed in, just don't use Firefox was the key for me.

BTW, I think the owner was the man in the red jacket, he was opening and closing the rear clamshell.

          • So Richard Von Frankenberg and Claude Storez achieved the same performance : 3 times class winner at the Reims 12 hours
Twice on the same car and once on a different car
In addition to the Reims 12 hours Claude Storez raced on the Reims circuit several other times particularly during rallye as the Routes du Nord (in 1956 winner with Robert Buchet on a 356 Carrera and in 1959 on his Zand races as the Tour de France automobile

            • Sorry wrong post again
              I complete my above answer
Claude Storez raced twice on the Reims circuit with his Zagato Porsche
in 1958 during the Tour de France automobile
In Feb 1959 during the rallye des Routes du Nord when he had his accident
Some months ago I wrote a post on this site about Claude Storez Zagato but this post was deleted when Justin had troubles with his site
I will try to collect some pics and send them you direct

Gerard - thank you for the interesting information and the photos. So this Storez Spyder no.11 has a Zagato body on it? - or is it added styling by Zagato on to the Porsche-Wendler(?) body..?

Indeed Richard Von Frankenberg did better than Claude Storez as he also win the 1954 edition of the Reims 12 hours race with Helmut Polensky as co-pilot ie 4 class
