  • Andrew,

We seem to be going backwards. Are you saying 07 not a bucklewagen?

Anyway, there are several photos but----8 May 1954 (where 05 was without any doubt in Brazil and 06 was in Geneva) 07 was Start 146 at Sable-Solesmes after the Buckle was removed.

    • I am not saying it isn't a buckel, but I really don't have any photos of the car now, seeing all the ones I had with the Buckel have now moved across to 550-06. I would love to see a photo of 550-07 with and without the buckel (excluding the race images which are in debate). Porsche must have taken some publicity photos of the car as they did with every other prototype.

      • Interesting early model customer spyder with large air intakes, no indicators, speedster screen and a custom colour - no idea which one though...

            • It looked as on your photo before it went to Japan.
There it was displayed with the same holes, wooden steering wheel and
roll bar but with spyder windshield and blue colour.

              • Not only the roll bar is consistent but also those two "bubbles" in the rear on top of the carbs.

                • You are correct again - you can see the intakes on the front when it was in the Matsuda Collection

It must have been modified by the next owner as the holes are filled, but still no indicator lights

                      Hello Everyone,

Steve Heinrichs has asked me to post this photo, identified as 550-07 on 14 March 1954.

                        • Andrew, this was 3.54. There is no doubt 05 was in Brazil. This is 07.

                          • So, both with and without buckel were taken March 1954 - do you know which is earlier?

I agree this is 550-07, but that's where it all goes pear shape as they both have a hinged rear, so why would Porsche revert back to a fixed rear...?
