The new door skin and the cowl/fender section are just beautiful Neil! The shapes look spot on. BTW are you getting any requests to build panels?
Thank you for sharing your amazing work once again!
Justin
also got the hinge brackets spot welded to the hood frame we made up at peter's, and i got that bolted to the car for the first time too
not too bad really, i can work with that. had to make a new upper bulkhead panel (what the hinge pockets weld too) but it was quicker than the first attempt lol
little update, well i actually forgot about this, not entirely but i thought i'd posted these pic's but i hadn't. here goes lol
that machine i made sure does come in handy! looks pretty close to real engine lid, i'm doing the backing that the hinges bolt to right now, i made some new dies for this machine and it's coming on
Damn, you have some mad skills there! Great work and enjoying your posts. That uncut front end reminds me of the Batmobile. Thanks for taking time to post.

thank you justin i did get hold of an engine lid locally but it was in need of serious repair so i gave it back, i thought if i have to do major repair work i may as well make a new one.
only a small update...
i had a delivery been looking for some good headlight buckets as i've read some are good and some are... well not good lol
they look great quality and can't wait to weld them in the nose panel. i'll be re-reading the details that you wrote justin when you fitted them in the coupe-speedster conversion
You build the car basically from scratch by hand then you go and buy headlight buckets. Don't be selfish. Send them back and show us how to make them by hand.
When its finished people will point to those repros and laugh.
( its the small things that count in a project of this magnitude )
this is the 4th 1/4 panel i've made for this side along with the second attempt to get the rear window opening right. converting from bt6 to pre-a is no easy feat, but the end is getting closer.

Neil, I was reading the most recent post from September. Did the VW bucket get fitted? If so, did it fit well?
hi john, i've not fitted them at the moment, i have made the flange so i can cut the holes for them and weld in the flange though. i was going to fit them while the front is fitted on the buck, but i decided it may be better to fit them while the car is on the ground.
