Hi Vance
Difficult question as first time I see this pic
The surroundings (mountain paysage and gravel roads)suggest either Liege Rome Liege or Alps rallye
The rallye plate on the car (cannot read it even by increasing it) deny Liege Rome Liege (black plates high on the boot)
The car number 134 lead me to say 1952 Alps Rallye as this PRE A cabriolet this same year with race number 114
In 1953 all 356 had race number around 300

Hi Vance
Very interesting pic which complete what we wrote on the 1953 Monte Carlo Rallye pages 98 and 99 of this same topic
Luens pass is located near Castellane in the French South Alps ie not far from Monaco and culminate to 1054 meters
I had never seen this pic before but looking clearfully at it I believe this car to be the number 1 car of this rally driven by the Portugese team Albert Fernando Roy Stuck/Pinto Basso
Some other pics of the numerous 356 present at this rallye
Nusbaum/Cuche
Mesdames des Forest/Imbert

The organisers were thanked by the Porsche owners as more than 17 off 356 enter this rallye
In return this edition is very well documented and I found at least one pic of each 356 a pleasure I am going to share with you all
Some numbers first regarding the 1953 edition
440 entrants
404 sarting cars with 17 356
346 cross the finish line
To start with a different pic of car number 1 Roy Stuck/Pinto Basso than the one posted yet
