The 2nd edition of the Tour Auto raced in 1952 as peer below map

It was a very difficult race : over 5500 kilometers on small country or mountains roads from Nice to Nice
The race last 5 days but only 2 rest stop, one in La Baule, one in Reims
108 cars started

only 58 arrived safe in Nice
Amongst the 108 starting cars 12 Porsche 356 with quite known names as Auguste Veuillet the Sonauto boss or Claude Storez (25 years old in 1952) and his father
and of course the famous Belgium women pilot Gilberte Thirion
Amongst the 12 starting 356 3 off were driven by Portuguese teams
Joaquim Filipe Nogueira (the same as yesterday) was teaming with Filipe Tojal




They finish 14th overall and first Porsche

The second Portuguese team was JoaoGraca/James Rodrigues ona Pre A cab

They finish 16th overall
The 3rd Portugues team was Ernesto Martorell/Fernando Mascarenhas DNF

This edition will be long after remembered with the diqualification of the women team Gilberte Thirion/Ingeborg Polensky on the all aluminium 356 GT-061race number 62

They completed the rallye and were safe back in Nice where they were declared winning the women's cup



A few hours after they received their trophhes they were told they had been diqualified for having received assistance from Gilberte father and Ingeborg husband (the famous Helmut Polensky pilot) who were following together the race in another car
