              12 off Porsche 356 + 1 off spyder 550 (550-04) enter the 1954 edition of the Mille Miglia

              356 race number 229 driven by Richard von Frankenberg/Heinrich Sauter finish 29th overall and first in the 1.5 L GT class
              550-04 driven by Hans Herann/Herv=bert Linge finish 6th overall and first in the 1.5 L Sport class
              Some days after the race these 2 cars were presented inside the Stuttgart Porsche plant to the Porsche employees

                            If this pic represent well one of the 11 off 356-02 SL aluminium Gmund race car this pic was not taken at either Le Mans 1951-1952 or 1953 the 3 years where thiese cars raced
                            Indeed in 1951 Porsche enter two cars
                            Car race number 46 (356SL 356/2 063) driven by Auguste Veuillet/Edmond Mouche
                            finish 20th overall and first in Sport 1.1 L
                            Car race number 47 (356 SL 356/2 054) driven nby Rudolph Sauwerein/Robert Brunet

                              Auguste Veuillet was the only one to finish the race at a very good 11th overall place and of course also first in the sport 1.1 L class
