Further more he had two Gmund
A standard one chassis number 356/2 040 ex-Porsche work gift of Ferdinand Porsche
The first of the eleven Gmund race cars (Rennen) chassis number 356/2 053
Normally he was racing with 356/2 053 and using 356/2 040 as daily driver and even as tow car for his ice racer Flietzenwagen
Some of Ottos number plates that he used.....
The most famous that people know is the T2222.
In Austria you can have one plate and swop between the cars you own...that said only one car running at the time
As you can see Otto had the T2222 on his daily driver a Range Rover up until he passed away.
The colored photo of Otto is from one of my meetings with him back in 1992.
It turned out after his departure that Otto had not been paying his registration fees for the number plate for years but still drove with it
Thanks Jop for your explanations
May be you may help to solve this questionh
Otto plate T 2222 was already in existence on Otto M 64
On very early pics the writing was T space 2 dash 222
On this same M 64 it was then changed into T space 2222
[attachment:2]Otto4.JPG[/attachment
Otto's other plate T 1 414 was also displayed T space 1 dash 415
Later the correct display was T space 2222 on other Otto's cars
Regards to Otto's license plates, as far as I know the plates stayed with the car as registered.
Otto seemed to be a magician using smoke & mirrors to move his plate collection from car to car.
perhaps he didn't drive them on the public roads except for races.
Anyone in Germany aware of plate switching between cars?
