    • Check out the vent window configuration in post #37872. I remember seeing Bill Durland`s SCGT Coupe had the same arrangement.......and the door window frame was aluminum. I`ve added a pic of Bill Durland`s SCGT at 356 REG Holiday at Indy.....88? Notice the lack of opening door vent window.

                      • For the small history the Ferrari race number 21 had an accident only after 3 laps
In these days it was common to leave the crashed cars along the track and not tow them out as we do to day

Some more pics of the 1500 Carrera GT before the accident
                        First during the race

The 1956 Le Mans 24 hours were exceptionnaly raced in July 29th/30th instead of the usual June dates in order to avoid to have this race coinciding with the anniversary of the dramatic 1955 accident
The 25th edition of the race in 1957 were raced as before in June (22nd/23rd)
The 1956 change in race dates obliged Reims to organise their 12 hours race earlier than the usual July dates ie June 29th/30th
You all remember that Annie Bousquet killed herself during this race
We don't know if the Reims race had been held at its usual dates this accident had happen

                            • Hi Vance

                              You have it half right
This car is not Robert Buchet personnal 356 Carrera but one of the Paul Ernst Strahle Carrera's (I believe he owe three different (all with the famous plate number WN V 2) + of course all the factory ones he drove for Porsche
You are right mentionning Robert Buchet as Robert and Paul Ernst Stehle were excellent friends
They share the wheel of this Carrera at least twice
First at the 1958 Monte Carlo rallye where they were DNF
