  • Any Owner or VIN info on the Carrera coupe in this photo?

Appears to be a 1957 (or early 195 GT model with 5 Louver deck lid.

    Thanks! Michael Doyle

          • Good day everyone,

Finally a free moment to try and see what I can learn about an interesting Carrera we purchased a few weeks ago and should be arriving here in SoCal in another ten days or so.

The previous posts from me on this site were done in proxy by Justin as I had a very hard time becoming a member due to a technical glitch. This is actually the first post coming from me.

I thought it might be best to post what I have so far on this Carrera as a separate subject so as not to step on any work or photos being share here.

More to follow shortly and my thanks to everyone,

            Bill Noon

            • Hello Bill,

Welcome to this forum. It will be interesting to know more about the Carrera you speak of. The year, type, model, and chassis number all have special categories and history that your car will share in.

                • Super cool. I wonder why they left the bumpers on?

                    1) It's only a GS
                    2) is there a crowd present?
                    3) any other cars?
                    4) any markers or lines to denote a race track? A runway?

Seriously, maybe it was just too much trouble before the 'perfect light' for a photo was gone.....but then, the windscreen is not all there.

It's either way ahead or way behind the main pack of racers if it's in a race.

                    Still, a very desirable 356!

Here is one of my Speedsters in the early '70s:

Please note the stainless steel rollbar!

                      • That's Greg Young's GS/GT Speedster. He has owned it for a loooong time- I first saw it at a Burton Burton event in Malibu in 1987.
