  • Thanks Andrew! I was going to ask when that body style change occurred and I see that we are there now. Great stuff!

        • Today is 550-0017 which raced at Sebring in 1955 finishing 2nd in class driven by Herbert Linge and Huschke von Hanstein. Today it resides in Europe and enters many classic car events. It still has matching blue rims to its darts

            • Steve, when Art Bunker owned 550-0020, was it French blue with tan interior?

So if it was the special guest I probably have to be careful with
sharing my thoughts about that car.

Is this car a fake ?

                        • Look at it's shape...
Complete new body on a new built frame, both wrong in many details,
wrong engine type and wrong tranny.
                          How would you call that?

Hey Gerd, I'm not quite seeing what the problems are with the body of this 040 Spyder? It looks pretty good to me. Andrew posted a couple of photos of two other spyders (in silver)and they just screamed rebody. What bothers you most about it? Steve or Andrew what is the known history about this car?
                            Thanks! Justin
