It is important to note that all of the early 550 prototype history is very difficult. Many, many attempts have been made to sort it out.
While I cannot go through it all here (buy the book for detail)----there are many difficult issues. Most people have tried to solve problems by focusing on one car at a time and using photos to "prove" their conclusions.
Simply put, this does not work. Sone early cars---particularly 550-07---we reconfigured more than once.
It is essential to solve the whole puzzle---that is---list all the races and appearances. And fit the cars in. Some things then do not work so easily. For example---yes---it looks like 05 came back perhaps and was one car Annie drove. But it did not come back. It has a story of its own. And, 550-07 was first a bucklewagen, then reconfigured, then wrecked, then fixed then wrecked, then fixed, then burned. Along the way--changed and got a new frame. 07was Annie's and I also have the list showing it being picked up for the fatal race, and photos of the frame and earlier "service" records. There is absolutely no doubt.
And, Ihave the invoices of Wiedenhausen re the early cars and the dates and timing...and Linge's daily diaries. ALL of this must be and now is coordinated and it fits.
I do hope that when the race history comes out, that some issues will be resolved. No doubt there will be errors and problems as we are certainly not sure of everything. I spent 3 years thinking that -09 was really the 1100ccm LM car, but it was not. It really was -13.
And -06 never went to Mexico. I know which car Segura sold and it was -13.
Lots of issues.

You guys Blow me away! I can fully appreciate all the time and resources that have been spent, researching, interviewing and hypothesizing about this very early interwoven 550 history which sadly is being lost to time. Thank god for passionate enthusiast's like yourselves who are tirelessly working to preserve it! Great stuff!
