Trying to identify who this driver is - he has a very distinctive badge on his helmet...

I stopped and had a nice chat with Bob Baker and my fav 550 of them all, 5500034. At 80+, Bob drove the 550 all weekend. I had`nt seen him in years, he looked and sounded great.....as always. I first learned of needle bearing link pins and aluminum wheel cylinders while working on this car in the 80s/90s when Bob still lived in Omaha. Went racing to Road America a couple times with him. A beautiful man and a beautiful Porsche!

I got to have a good chat to him too - nice guy and very much on the ball. I had found some photos of his car in my collection when it was owned by Olivier. The only detail was the unique steering wheel which linked the photos together. It throws some of the race results out in the Carrera book though...

Race results have been mixed with 550-0032 and Olivier raced a different 550 in the 1000 km Paris, Montlhery

For a Spyder which is listed as a 'frame only' it begs to question why it has a Porsche build plate on the inside passenger wheel well...
