Very cool Gerard! I really like their philosophy of repairing and saving as much of the original body as they can versus reskinning it.
Don, I moved your question over here:
I was wondering how they attached the aluminum bodies to the steel chassis on the early Gmund cars? Anybody shed some knowledge?

I've never seen how they were attached but either bolts or rivets. I'm guessing rivets...Justin Rio

Some years ago, I was talking with Gary Kempton about how Porsche limited corrosion between the aluminum body and steel chassis, which were riveted together. He said "They put some sort of thick, woven cloth between", and sent me a 10cm sample. I drove to the Hancock Shaker Museum, in Massachusetts, and bought 30 feet of startlingly similar material for 20 bucks! It is called " Shaker chair tape" and is used to weave the seats of the wonderful, classic, Shaker chair. A secret revealed!Gerry McCarthy
