      • To conclude we must admit that the Reinmann twins did a very good job to realise something who is not far from, a real 356 mainly if we think they did not had one to copy
I have read that Ferry was really interested as the Lindner is a real 4 seaters something Ferry always dream of as the work started in the 60's by the Swiss coachbuilder Beutler

          • Difficult to know what happen to Gottfried Dannenhauer during the second World War but we find him back in 1950 in Stuttgart where together with his son Kurt Stauss (why not the same name I don't know may be he was a war orphan) they open a coachwork in Stuttgart close to the Reutter plant
Together with their normal coachwork activitie ie repair cars, they had the idea as many others Germans, to built a sport car on a VW chassis
To make all chances on their side they subcontract the design work to two engineers Oswald and Wagner
These 2 gents had studyied under the direction of Dr Professor Kamm a pionneer in sreamline design
The result was a very fluid and nice looking sport car certainly one of the best ever built in these years

              • The first protoyypes and further on the series cars were largely hand built

                  • Most of the trim was from VW origin except the seats and the door pannels who were specially made by Dannenhauer
The Bosch beams were similar to VW and Porsche period correct
The dash board was also coming from a VW split and therefore quite similar to the Porsche Pre A one

                    • In 1953 with the introduction of the VW oval back window, the Dannenhauer & Stauss had some improvements
The windscreen became a one piece bended

                            • On the contrary of Porsche, Dannenhauer and Stauss never had the capacity to develop the chassis and the engine
All the cars produced from 1950 to 1954 retain the original VW chassis without any modification
The first serie got nothing else than a straight forward 25 HP VW
Being lighter and better profiled than a standard beetle, the Dannenhauer were performing a little better but their road performances always remain far from what could be expected for a "sport car"
Push by their customer the second serie cars were fitted with Okrasa engines delivering around 40 HP
