It is difficult to tell which car is Glockler Porsche number 4 and which is Glockler Porsche number 5 as in fact they were built together
I will follow Wikipedia numbering and call Glockler Porsche number 4 Richard Trenkel 1100 cc one

Richard Trenked ordered this car and raced it in 1953 and 1954 with many sucesses as seen here

Richard Trenkel still used his Glockler once in 1955 and the moved to a 550 spyder
In several occasion Richard Trenkel Glockler is said to be a Trenkel Porsche spezial which when I starting this topic made me list the Trenkel Porsche as a special Porche siilar to the Sauter porsche or the Glockler Porsche
In the encloded pic if you may read the legend it is said that Richard Trenkel lead the race in front of a Borgwad and an EMV in a special Porsche built by himself

Sorry please amend what said above
I was referring to Hans Stanek of course not Richard Trenkel
Hans Stanek car was the same than Richard T one but with a 1500 cc engine
engine who deliver 70HP at the beginning and whose power was increased to over 100 HP at the end
Hans Stanek did race the car himself but by lack of time pass over the wheel to Charles Vogele

The story of the three last Glockler are less known as the one of the Glockler Porsche 1-2 and 3 who have all ended in the US
In 1953 Walter Glockler start to build two Glockler Porsche which indeed are the prototypes for the 550 spyder
These 2 cars are similar to the Glockler Porsche number 3 (tubular chassis, aluminium body, engine in the center of the car) except that the
rear ale was placed in a reverse position ie the torsion bars at the extreme part of the chassis as seen on the three following pics of :
                        Glockler Porsche number 4
                        Glockler Porsche number 5
                        Early 550 spyder

Yes, By the configuration of first few 550's Porsche surely followed Glocker's lead. Great stuff as always Gerard, Thank you!

                          • The engine is in the same position than in a 356 ie behind the axle
For this car Glockler was given a bright new 4 cams Fuhrmann even before this engine was put by Porsche into his own 356 Carrera

                              • The car was ready in August for the 1954 Liege Rome Liege driven by Helmuth Glockler/Max Nathan
The Fuhrmann engine had some difficulties to run with the very poor fuel found in some eastern countries at that time and if the car suceeded to finsh the race he was not classified
Bad luck for Glockler and huge success for Porsche who made 1 and 3 withy their 356
The winner team was made from Helmut Polensky/Herbert Linge (the same guy who won the 1954 Mille Miglia with Hans Hermann) on a Gmnd 356 SL factory who did their one of her last races after 3 years of great successes
