As you may see on the start color pic Le Mans race since 1923 had always drag a considerable amount of spectators (300.000 to 400.000 even to day ) with a large share of English people
Le Mans race last a full week with the measurements and the practice race

At that time the top teams were Jaguar, Ferrari, Cunningham, Aston Martin, Afla Romeo, Gordini, Osca
Porsche was only the outsider and you have to be carefull to see some of the Porsche

After 24 hours of race Sunday June 14th at 4PM the 2 550 spyders crossed the line in 15 th and 16th position out of the 23 cars(out of 60 starters) who reach the arrival line
The 2 356 GT did not finish (at that time they were quite old cars who had been hardly raced during the 3 previous years)
Porsche KG was very proud of their performance and Porsche marketing publish victory posters
