A little earlier (May 5th to May 8th) for the long Ascension (a Catholic feast always celebrated a Thursday all over Europe) week the 356 Club Denmark was organising the 41st edition of the Porsche 356 International meeting in the city of Aahrus

As you may see on the above pics Aahrus is an harbour on the North sea at really the extreme North of Denmark
A total of 120 356 coming mainly from Germany, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Norway
France (10 cars) Italy and Switzerland and za few ones fron Denmark the organizing country
Indeed there is very few Porsches in Denmark a country where luxury cars are heavily taxed (a Porsche cost 3 times more in Denmark than in France)
In this conditions assemble 120 cars was a real success
Last year meeting (40in Belgium attract 140 cars

T6he 2014 356 International meeting was in Estoril Portugal

and the 38th international meeting in Strasbourg France

The 42 nd interantional meeting will be held in Roses a famous sea side resort in between the French border and Barcelona on the Mediterranean side of Spain


I know Roses well to have sailed here several times and no doubt it wll be a success

To come back to this year meeting the attendants were very lucky as the weather was really fine although a bit cold
During that same Ascension week end France and Italy had to suffer from very heavy rain

Aahus is pretty I attended a Jazz festival where about 8 years ago.

Agree with you Aahrus is a pretty city mixing old typical Danish houses





and really modern achitecture on the harbour docks

I have not attended this meeting myself but had some comments from a friend
This meeting was, as nearly every year, a success due to the very nice weather when most of Europe was under heavy rain during that same long week end
One of the major complaint was that the 356 International meeting had been organized in Dennmark for the third times and each of these meetings was in Aaahrus, when Dennmark is a quite large country with a lot of things to see
Another complaint was the lack of really extraordinary 356 but this is understandable when you realize that most of the participants drive their cars to the meeting
Drive your 356 in Denmark where bicycles are queens and expensive cars heavily taxed, is not fun at all with very low speed limits and agressive policemen
The organising club overcome that difficulty oranising a gymkana on a closed airport
Another well perceive idea was to visit the Lego factory and the Lego Land park in Billund a small city close to Aaahrus

Did you know that after their world wide known VW camper

Lego have just issued a Porsche GT3R

My 914 is an ex-race car
The engine is a 1972 2.2 L S 180 BHP engine with 3 barrells Zenith carburettors



The exhaust is a Dansk sport

Even being an historical race some pilot forget to stay cool

As you may see from this Italian newspaper article the 2 guys in this car were only sligltly hurt and taken to hospital just for precaution

From this article you may see that this Austin Healey 100M was part of the orga

was part of the organisation caravan not racing
In 2014 a Mercedes 300 SL gullwings was entirely destroyed during that same Mille Miglia historical



Theretoo the pilots were not seriously hurt
