Montalivet les Bains is well known in Europe not only for its waves but mainly as the capital of nudism
During the summer months thousands and thousands of German, Dutch, Swedish and Norvegian take profit of the mild climate and of the ocean waves

COOL! If you can coincide your next meet with that you'll probably get a few more Porsches to show up. Of course the idea is far nicer than the reality of it I'm sure. Enjoyed your pix.

This looks like it was a really fun event. A lot of the photos could easily have passed for Southern California. Thanks for taking the time to share this exotic event with us!

              • The Puma was a Brazilian made VW pan based car. Usually a stock 1500cc engine. Nicely appointed with great interior and upholstery.
They used the Karmann Ghia pan until VW quit producing them in Brazil.
The 1600 GTE model then used the VW 1600cc engine and pan beginning in 1970. I think production ran until 1975.

Now built in South Africa, but I have no good details.
Moderation in all things - resistance is futile

                    • Translation for those who do not understand French
"The company Autompoveis Luminari" was created in Sao Paulo in 1964 by an Italian guy named Gennaro Malzoni
The Malzoni GT was powered by a 3 cylinders 2 strokes DKW engine of 981 cm3 placed in the front and was a front drive car
In 1966 the Malzoni took the name of Puma GT
VEMAG who was building the DKW in Brazil was bought by VW in 1967 and Guido Malzoni was left without engines
The last Puma GT with DKW engines were built in 1968
A total of 170 cars were built which make it very rare even in Brazil

                          • In June 1968 a completely new car was launch
This car was built starting from a VW Karmann 14 chassis and fitted with a 1500 flat 4 VW engine at the back of course this time
In 1969 the capacity of the VW engine grew to 1600 cm3 and the car gain an "E" to became Puma 1600 GTE
At the same time a cabriolet was intrduced

                            • The Puma 1600 GTE stay unchanged until 1976
Success was there and several thousands of cars were produce"d with a pic at 3000/year in 1973

Cars were sold in Brazil as complete units but for customp reasons the few cars sold to the US were sold under a kit to be completed by the buyer
Some cars were also exported to Canada
In 1973 a Swiss company named "Automobil Handels Zurich" bought 150 cars and sold them in Switzerland and Germany over a period od nearly 10 years

                              • In 1976 big changes :
The lines were sharpered in sign of modernity (for me it was not a success)
The donor car was no longer tge VW Karmann whose production was stopped in Brazil but the VW Brasilia
The engine was still a 1600 VW flat four
