Hi everybody
Indeed I have been less present these last past three months on this forum fully occupied to finish up my last baby a 1970 914-6 GT evocation to have it ready for the warm days
Unfortunately in Europe this year Spring is very late to arrive and May is nearly finish and we rare still waiting for a really good weather
Two years work for that result
So back to work
Nothing really new in France since my last post one month ago but several things happened in Europe
To start with news from Italy where the 2016 Edition of the Mille Miglia was raced from May 19th to May 22nd
Brescia to Rome and back to Brescia in 4 days instead of less than one day for the original race
Despite that Italy is a lot further South than France, weather for this edition was not too good with some heavy rain not good for historical cars
Anyway again this year over 400 lucky owners were invited to enter
Although Porsche had many success in this race as celebrated by these posters
2016 was not a Porsche dedicated race with less than 30 cars amongst the 400 + starters
This year the focus was on Mercedes with over 20 300 SL Gullwings
and also many Jaguar C and D types
and of course many many Italian cars Fiat of course but also Osca, Lancia, Ferrari and Maserati
with some celebrities behind the wheel as this Ferrari driven by the ex-formala 1 pilot Jochen Mass
Threee off 550 were present
Race nnumber 252 driven by Karl Fridriech Scheufele Chopard (famous Swiss watches manufacturer sponsor of the Mille Miglia) CEO with Jacky Icks the famous Belgium Porsche pilot
I have not yey been able to found pic of the two ther 550, race number 349 driven by Phillip Gacco/Peter Gitsels and race number 377 driven by Wim Van Gierdegen a fidel of this race seen below during the 2015 edition
and to cope with the Millr Miglia legend as the Mexican actress Linda Christian kissing the Ferrari pilot Alfonso de Portago in the 50's this year the Greek actress Anna Kanakis was present too but as she had the "delicatesse" to choose a 356
