Due to my presence on the Porsche stand at the 2016 Paris Retromobile carshow I did not had time ti give you the final result
I do it now

The Italian team Perfetti/Kessel 2016 winner on a French Renault Alpine

A French team second with their Ford Escort RS2000

Another Italain team 3rd on a Lnacia Fulvia

Porsche cars finally achieve a 6th and 7th

22 Porsches in the 100 first cars

258 cars out the 314 starters did finish the race

On the contrary of the 2015 edition, the 2016 Monte Carlo Historique was raced mostly on dry roads which explain he relatively low non finishing cars
For the small history a second historical rallye : the "Neige et Glace historical rallye" was raced in France at about the same dates : February 1st to February 3rd
The Monte Carlo Historique did finish on February 2nd
The next day Wednesday February 3rd snow was falling hard on all the French Alps as you may see on the following pics

As for the Monte Carlo Historique, the 2 first days of the "Neige et Glace" were raced on dry roads

Despite the competition of the Monte Carlo historique rallye, the 2016 edition of the "Neige et Glace" did attract nearly 100 competitors
One of them was the famous French pilot and car constructor Henri Pescarolo who with his assistant Michel Perrin finish 6th overall on a 911

I see Daniel Elena, Sebastian Loeb's long time co-pilot, finished 11th overall. I didn't know he was such a good rally driver.

Daniel Elena was born in 1972 in Monaco and still live to day in Monaco
He knows as his fingers all the small roads around Monaco
Even when he was teaming with Sebastien he enter the Monte Carlo historique just for fun

Last year (2105) he did even better than this year (2016) with the same car (GTI Golf) and the same co pilot finishing 7th overall

After a 3 years brake Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena have reunified their team no longer for Citroen but for Peugeot Sport (Peugeot and Citroen are sister companies) to race a 2008DKR buggy in several rallye raids
Their first race was the Dakar early January
They finish 9th overall after mechanical problems but more races have to come

Yes, I watched it on TV. He was leading after the first few days but then rolled the car, amazingly he finished!
