Back home from a sailing campaign who took me far from home these last days, just the time to get some clean clothes and away for the Monta Sunset Drive meeting organized by the Porsche 912 France club to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 912 on the surf spot of Montalivet les Bains on the South West of France Atlantic coast this last week end

The Porsche 912 France club is relatively small (around 50 members) but its members being relatively young compare to the Porsche 911 and 356 members, are very active and not conservative
In order to create an attractive event, they had the idea to open their meeting to all Porsches and old VW fanatics
Replicas were even tolerated as the splendid Beck 550 replica (powered by a real Porsche engine) of my friend Bruno the Vintage Import boss

For me it was a very short but funny drive as you may see on this map
I live on a small village east of Royan exactly where the D114 road cross the river Seudre
(This river flow trough my property may be 3 meters wide and 1 meter deep
50 km away when its merge the Atlantic Ocean in Marennes this river is 3 kilometers wide)
Montalivet les Bains is on the other side of the Gironde estuary on the Ocean coast
Although being only 60 kilometers away from my home the drive is interesting as you need to cross the Gironde on a ferry
