  • I have been informed that Roy Lock has again defamed me, as is his wont, on the Registry forum where I cannot post since my membership application was refused. I'll make it simple:

All of his scurrilous accusation(s) are false.

    • Bill, Roy made a statement that he recalls at one time you were for some type of sharing, selling, renting, divulging, etc. of the e-mail list from the Registry. Is this true?

Then Roy asked a question of you, "why YOU for two years running tried to steal the name of the Registry."

Is this true? I do remember that someone did file for "ownership" of a name similar to the Registry & I thought it was you.

Forgive the circumspection, but, I have been falsely accused of a crime.

        • All (Sebastian included),

The fact that Roy Lock's post continues unmoderated, unremoved and un-replied to two days later should be instructive.

No low blow or defamation is too low on the R Forum. The Trustees and, certainly PCNA, should be agast and deeply embarrassed. The members need to seriously consider who is representing them.

One word here, while a little harsh, was reasoned. The reaction, nonetheless, was severe even though the "word" was used to describe a sense of frustration in trying to answer a person who simply believes all is well and was trying to seek answers to questions as to which he had no opinion.

Anyway, I'd say that the accusation on the R Forum is reprehensible and, like Mr. Dunn's false and misleading and out of date news update regarding the lawsuit----should be immediately removed.

Progress at the Registry toward reasonable treatment of members or compliance with the law? Actually, no.

            • Well,
You've really got to admire Bill's sense of humor.

Where can I get my 356 Pariahs, Inc. membership application! Sign me up buddy!

No thinking person could accuse him of "stealing" the Registry name. It's more properly described as picking it up and putting it away after it was carelessly left out on the curb for any passerby to appropriate.

The Registry(and Mr Lock) should be thanking him.

A big 'thank you' to David Gensler for outlining the facts in this matter, both here and on the Registry site, putting the truth to Mr. Lock's wild and obviously false assertions.

By recent filings and forum examples - it is a pretty sad state of internal, external, and legal affairs at the Registry.

Sorry indeed, but they're still getting the MAGAZINE and rumor has it
that Gordo, in his many roles, has landed another 3 year contract for each of them. Going down in a golden parachute ?? Wonder if they went out for competitive bidding ?

It takes me a while but eventually I put two and two together and Jacks photo helped me along with that. I was a member of the registry in 1990 but did not realize until now that I was actually a member of the So. Cal. chapter at the time. I just assumed it was the "registry". Here's an old newsletter I received way back on June 4, 1990.

Here were the founding trustees at the time...

By Trevors comment I assume this chapter no longer exists? If so does anyone know why? Thanks! Justin

                        • Justin,
The club is now the 356 Club of Southern California. You will note
that none of the current R trustees from So. Cal were founders of
the club. They did misspell Bob Raucher's name.

                          • OK, where are all my R member critics to chastise Cliff's latest diatribe using truly offensive terms to describe those he disagrees
with ? I see Mr. Lock is grasping at any straw available to defend his outrageous and proven false allegations, while at the same time giving Mr. Heinrichs kudos for the positive changes (cosmetic though they be). Again, where's the outrage ? The moderator, rather than moderating, asks for voluntary compliance while those who freely critique on this site remain silent as usual. To be clear, no one
here 'hates the Registry', that is simply a red herring tossed out by the defenders of the status quo on the R site. Many of us do despise
the flagrant disregard for the rules, State, Federal and those of common decency, shown by the 'leadership' and their minions.
Footnote: I see the R's 'leadership' has again lost it's appeal in the Ohio courts.

For some reason I thought that Felix Macaluso was also one of the founding trustees of the SoCal club but the attachment in Justin's post indicates otherwise. Please permit me that abbreviation of this fine local group that really is a car club. Rosemary and I are proud to have have been members since shortly after we bought our coupe in late 2011. I am a little curious in that regard. I suspect that Felix may well have been a charter member as he is a long-time and valuable member of that club.

I have been informed by several of the local people that the SoCal club specifically did not wish to be part of the Registry. When that desire arose I likewise do not know, but, given the behavior of some of the Registry trustees around the time of the SoCal founding I am unsurprised. I cannot confirm (nor deny) the reason(s) that the SoCal club, which is very much active today, is not affiliated with the Registry. I'm just glad we can belong to a great group.

On the 356 club's home page: http://356club.org/ the reader is advised the club was founded in 1985.

                              • I am SO glad that so many of you have a sense of humor.

                                David - you've got it - glad you're laughing.

I'm reminded of a story (probably an urban legend) of the high school teacher that parked his Corvette with the keys in it in the student lot to just run in for a minute to get a forgotten item. Naturally, he was shocked to return and find out his Corvette was also a 'forgotten item.' Apocryphal I'm sure, but, nevertheless amusing.

I'm exploring career options as a performance artist Jack. I hope I can come up with T shirts/applications in my spare time. Whatever that is.
