This photo is from the 1960 Targa Florio where the RS60 with license plate number S-KP 267 carried race number 184 and was the winning car driven by Jo Bonnier and Hans Herrmann. It is chassis no. 718-047.

"What is it about RS60's and kids??"

The windshield makes 'em think it's a Speedster?

Bob Donner jr.competed there with his RS-60 and RS-61 but the first Porsche to compete there was a Speedster. See Road Scholars article Porsches at Pikes Peak on their website. The Spyders were modified to deal with the unique conditions there.
He was very fast, and competitive with much more powerful vehicles on the hill.

Bob Donner competed there many many times with an RSK and his RS-60, and I believe he may have actually won once. No time to research it now but I will have more in a few hours...

    Hi Vance

    Pretty- good question
Pikes peak hill climb had been continuously run since 1916 with only an interruption between 1942 and 1946
Therefore it was possible that a Porsche race car (356 Carrera, 550 spyder or 718 RSK had been entered
Does any body on this site know ?

I agree, a magnificent photo. We loved the Count. He came to Watkins Glen many times and one of our local Porsche trained mechanics, Jiri Nechleba, was always on his crew. This photo is probably 1962 as he got one of the 1961 F1 cars. How he fit in it was amazing.
