Just to be clear you used to/do own a car that was driven by one of the icons of motorsport (did the triple, son won the F1 won championship too beating Michael) and GH drove the car in one of the most iconic races.Originally posted by Rickie" post=43875Photo of Graham Hill in RSK 718-009 in 1960, which was used as a recce vehicle for the Targa. When I purchased this car it still had the tall screen required in 1960 by the FIA but was not fitted in 1959.
Nice!

Irony in that Graham Hill was supposed to drive 042 at Sebring but after driving a few cars changed to another car. 042 went on to win Sebring in 1960 and Hill and Bonnier were a dnf.

Interesting also the already famous formula 1 pilot Graham Hill had the opportunity to try all the 3 RS 60 before to drive 718-042 for the race

1960 was an exceptionnal year for Porsche at the Targa Florio
In additiojn to the 1-3 and 5th position for the 3 off RS 60, Paul Ernst Strahle, Herbert Linge and Dieter Lissman shared the wheel of 2 Abarth Carrera GTL Ncar race number 116 who finish 6th overall and car race number 120 who finish 8th overall
5 Porsche in the 8 first places
Not bad !

718-041 and 718-042 had 1.6 Fuhrmann they compete in the over 1.5 L sport class and of course 041 won this class too
Sorry Paul no trace of 047 in 1960
Indeed in 2016 for the lauch of the 718 4 cylinders spyder Porsche invited Dereck Bell to drive 718-041 in Sicily
Racing sport car also give 041 as winner
and for Neil all three cars were powered by the 4 cylinders Fuhrmann

If it is car 184 from the '60 Targa then it is also 718-041 so it is the same car!! Photos taken about 17 years apart. 718-047 was one of the WRS spyders built in late '61.
