Very pleased to note that the red 1959 Carrera GS-GT in the background of the photos posted in #...697 below is my former car, which I had restored by the Paterek Brothers, with engine by the late Bill Doyle (692/3). Now owned by the Ingram Collection, it finished fourth overall in the 1959 Tour de France, driven by Jean Kerguen, who also drove at Le Mans on numerous occasions. We won People's Choice and Judge's Choice with it at the 1990 Parade in Monterey.
Why did you part with it??

Regarding your post of my comments on my '59 GT coupe, If you are asking why I parted with it, I guess the short answer is that what started out as a modest restoration for potential race use after the sale of my ex-works RSK turned into a full blown project resulting in a 100 point effort. I was never a concours guy, and then found myself with a car that was so good that it just sat in a garage. After some years, I decided to let it go. Life goes on...Richard Roth
