  • Ricky,

After owning my 59 GT coupe for 47 years I decided to part with it too.
There are many moments when I regret doing it but I now have a very drivable 356C.
The GT became too valuable too avoid hail storms and parking lots.

    • Fair enough. On a much more modest car. We are slowing improving our 912 early targa. As it gets nicer I worry more about taking it out. Which is all wrong. I drove it up to Scotland last week and panicked when the hotel I had chosen didn't have covered parking (despite me calling to confirm they did).

          • Still out to pasture.
Was it saved or has it become beer cans?

                    • Jo Bonnier was also quite an effective Formula 1 driver. The man with the glasses standing next to Bonnier as he is getting in[or out]of the car is Vasek Polak who owned the car that he drove, which was considerably aged by the time he got into it and was not the car he had expected when he arrived from Europe for that race.Vasek came up with something to enable him to make the grid.

                          • Interesting photo for Spyder sleuths. Center-seater at Werkes I unless I miss my guess, with Impala adding to the detective work. Note NL country ID on trunk lid, however. Don't see any sign it was a tow vehicle though...are the two cars related??
BTW, www.breuer.shop site has superb four cam metallwerk parts...I would just like to have around for their craftsmanship.

                            • Hi Rickie, I don't know much about the other cars.
As far as my information goes, the RSK on the photo was built for Herbert von Karajan, a well-known austrian conductor, probably one of the best ever.
Thanks for your compliments on the sheets!

                              • The left car in the back is a Mercedes "Ponton" with a damaged front.
The cheapest Mercedes in that days.
It probably came in for a body repair.
The other one looks to me like a Chevy BelAir.
