After much research, I have worked out that it is the preliminary race at Del Mar fairgrounds 25 Sept 1960 with Scooter Patrick driving the Adam Mitchell Special which was 550-0029 rebuilt after Troy McHenry's fatal accident in 1956. #74 is Jack McAfee, but he ended up driving an RSK #193 in the main race as the red 550A blew an engine in practice.

The PAM racing car (Adam Mitchell Special) went through a number of body transitions throughout the 1961 season

Great detective work Andrew. So the gold car is the repaired McHenry car? Part of the Dean curse as it had some parts from that wreck when he died in it, Correct?
