Here is another one. I haven't seen a 550 with the two air vents behind the seats before. Often they have leather straps there. Here I think that they almost drive it own a large step!
They were mainly fitted to comply with the 1957 FIA safety standards where all cars needed to be fitted with a roll bar. The roll bar was under the cowl. The cowl was stock on the 550A, but not a factory option on the RS550
The new posters will be worth the wait Neil. A good friend of mine and ex employee is an amazing designer and although he is not redesigning them, he is using his skills to make them more period, which I am wrapped about. We are in the final stages of completing them. I am also looking at doing some limited edition screenprints which will be 1000mm x 750mm (39" x 30") which will have a beautiful flat layered 50s feel - very similar to the original designs of the time. Although it is a large outlay just to print 100, I believe they will be highly sought after.
Nice. So the idea with these one if that you print and post? I like the idea of printing locally but I guess you have found a good printer and you want to ensure quality. Your guess on price?
With the screenprinted posters, there is a lot of set up costs as they will be 6-8 colours each. I see them around the $250 mark each, which is pretty good value for a limited edition original
