  • From 1961 to 1964 1009 was extensively raced in local French races sometimes hard as at the 1962 Mont d'Or hill climb where the car was severly damaged

    • In 1964 when he got his new 904 the Dr Roueylou sold 1009 to Guy Hospitalier also located in the South of France

      • By end 1966 Guy Hospitalier sold 1009 to another Sooth of France guy Yves Aviat who contined to race it until the end of 1967 ie an exceptionnal racing life of 7 years

        • 1009 was then sold in the US
          Came back in Germany and stayed unsold for 10 years
          Bought in 2009 by Claude Picasso-Ruiz son of the painter Pablo Picasso
          The car was restored in Italy and his frequently displayed as at the 2013 Gstaadtd Classic

          • Now I am just about to finish the Abarth Carrera story I realise that I have found pics of 19 off the 20 cars built
            The only one missing for me is 1005 who apparently never raced in Europe and was in the US since 1960If some of you have a pic of 1005 please post it
            So some pics, not posted yet of the 19 cars I have
            To start with 1001 who was the first factory race car

                    A car missing to my pic collection

                    1006 sold new in France to Pierre Marx Chemist in Verdun a small east of France town
                    Bought by Robert Buchet to replace 1002 after the 1962 Tour auto crash

                                I have myself problem to identify cars to day
                                For the 2 Abarth attending the rennsport reunion V I made a big mistake
                                car race number 23 is 1008not 1004
                                car race number 35 is of course 1001 not 1008
