The "pur sang" 1959 Beutler cabriolet 13011
After the prototype 12335 of the 4 seater 356, the Beutler brothers were asked in 1959 by the count of Wurtemberg to build for him a special cabriolet based on a 356 A chassis
The chassis as for the 4 seater version was increased in length by 30 cm
The Beutler brothers together with the count of Wurtemberg draw the lines of this car that they realised in aluminium in order to reduce the weight

Not having inspected one, one has to wonder what happened to all that air, rain, mud, etc. that was fed into the trunk of the Beutlers.
Or
Other than lending a conventional look, what was the purpose of the front intake/grill?----------
Keep 'em flying...

Hi SJ
Thanks for your interest
I asked me the same question when I started Beutler chapter
Indeed the only answer I found is that this front grill was just a decoration to make the Beutler car look similar to other period correct car who all had a front engine
On the pic below it is obvious that there is no hiole behind the grill
