ID:	72214 was also fascinated by the formula Vee eclosion in the US and see in this phenomena a way to allow young Germans boys to sart racing for a low amount of money
Porsche factory bought in the US 6 Form cars and 6 Beach formula Vee in kit form in order to assemble them in Stuttgart
These 12 formula Vee are not in real term X....Porsche cars (they kept their VW typ 1 1200 CC engine as any other Vee cars but really Porsche built

The first APAL race cars were ready for the first German and European Formula Vee organized the first week end of July 1965 on the Nuremberg Norisring in front of over 50.000 spectators
The success was immediate and Edmond came back home with nearly 100 car on order
The APAL Vee race cars were built from early 1965 to mid 1967 when Edmond Pery lost one of his good friend killed on The Nurburgring with one of his APAL Vee
                  He came back home
Chassis 375 was on the assembly line
Edmond decided this chassis to be the last one he will built

                    • Interesting for somebody from France as me, at that same Auction a Citroen 2CV special serie "Charleston black and yellow" was sold for 47.000 USD
I don't know why a so high price
Similar cars could be found in France by hundreds for around 8/10.000 USD

                        • Don

Agree with you but this car is very popular in Europe
Built by Citroen from 1948 to 1990
Total quantity : 5.114.961 so not really a rare car which explain why I was surprise than somebody paid 47.000 USD
The "Charleston series" made in a limited quantity are the more researched
A fully restored car is easily accessible in France for around 5.000 USD
Special for me as I learn to drive on one of these
There was still a quite high demand in 1990 when Citroen stop the production (from one of their Portugese plant) but it was no longer possible to meet the anti pollution regulations
Amusing return of situation this car is very popular in Germany and the Netherlands 2 off countries where the "Green" are very strong

                            • The success was immediate and at the end of the 1969 Paris carshow (October) Edmond Pery came back to Liege with over 150 firm orders
The first serie car was completed early 1970 and delivered by Edmond himself to his new owner in Austria

when Edmond came back from the delivery he found that his plant and office had been entirely destroyed by a huge fire

                              Comment

                              • But Edmond needed more to be hitted
Instead of closing the company, Edmond helped by the totality of the workers started to clean what's left from the plant and bought new plastic presses
Six month later the buggy production restarted in a plant still without a roof
