  • By end August Claude Storez and Marcel Buffet were in Belgium to take part to the 1956 Edition of the Liege Rome Liege race another very tough race on difficult roads
Over 3000 km with no other stops than to refuel or control oil
This time Marcel Buffet left his new Carrera in his garage and raced with an older PRE A 356 from Sonauto

Apparently this restaurant was a forced stop as several of the other competitors were pictured in front of this same restaurant
        Willy Mairesse first

              • Two weeks after Liege Rome Liege by September 13th, Claude Store and Robert Buchet were at Nice for the start of the 6th Tour Auto with the same 356 PRE A plate 6175 EL 75
After the 3500 km of the Liege Rome Liege on awfully degradated mointain roads, it was another 5300 km race in 3 stages
                Start from Nice
                Arrival Paris by September 23rd
Indeed Claude Storez 356 did not support well these additionnal kilometers and it was a DNF
Not surprising only 37 out of the 130 starters cars completed the race
The winning team was a Ferrari driven by Alfonso de Portago

By April 14 th 1957 Claude Storez flew to Sicilia to attend the "Giro di Sicilia" on a 550 A from the Porsche factory
The nGiro di Sicilia is a 1000 km race around Sicilia the small Italian Island
The Giro di Sicilia is raced 2 months before the Targa Florio who is raced in the same island but on a smaller track to complete several times

                          • The Giro di Sicilia was as much popular in Italy than the Mille Miglia or the Targa Florio
Each year, the Organizing comittee invite some known foreign pilots to join the several hundreds Italians competitors on small Fiat, Alfa, Osca, Stanginelli etc
In 1957 Porsche KG sent 2 550 A, one for Claude car race number 302 and one for Umberto Maglioli car race number 303
                            Both cars were DNF
I have not found any pic of Claude car but just one of Umberto Maglioli
