The engine is finally in the speedster and I am totally excited with the outcome. It is better than what I imagined it to be, the 356 latch really adds the finer detail.
A lot has happened oil cooler and filter complete.
    D.I.Y Fire Suppression KIT complete.
Fuel Lines semi-complete need to fit the Carbs and complete the plumbing.
Do the final wiring in the engine compartment.
New wheel studs and ball nuts fitted.
The exhaust has to be modified to suit the Euro Bumper Guards.

I believe when this is all done Armand will be moving to the front to do his magic in the spare wheel area.

It has been a while since my last update, winter season we tend to hibernate. It is summer again in South Africa and it is full steam ahead.
A lot has happened the engine bay is now complete, the engine sits beautifully in the speedster, a quick glance at the VW type 1 engine could easily be mistaken for a 356 engine. Armand has been busy with the front Spare wheel compartment once again Armand has done an amazing job. The whole idea with the spare wheel compartment is to house the spare wheel, with the 356 fuel tank and spare wheel it will give the look which I hoped for, again Armand nailed it.

I just spent the last 40 minutes combing through your build here and It's really got me fired up to get a project of my own going. I just have to make my mind up whether I want a coupe or a speedster. Thanks for the inspiration, great build.

My first test drive since I started the speedster project five years ago , a special thanks to Armand for making it possible.
Next step is to have all the gaps nicely reworked, replace the period correct rocker panels as I am want to replicate the 1958 speedster the body is a 1956 the rear wheel arch I will leave as is, then it is off for a final spray paint. Once the spray paint is complete we will complete the upholstery and then the roof. I will update as we progress.
