The marque this year was Ferrari and there were a bunch of them. All told I would say that some 250-300 European cars were presented on the lawn at the New Kent Winery that is about 20 miles East of Richmond.
Folks who just want to look at cars can buy a $10 ticket and those that want to sip wine as they stroll the grounds pay probably $25 or $35.
Several Wineries are there to offer their grapes!
The weather was perfect this year with nice blue skies and temps in the low 70s.
We had 5 356s show for OUR class.

    A nice 1957 356A Coupe, two 1961 Roadsters, a 1965 T6 Coupe and a 1965 Cab.
The Blue Roadster beat me out for 1st in class. He has just finished a car that he has been working on for several years and it is pretty.

Each winner gets a bottle of their red wine.
I was awarded Original Owner, however I told them I am not an Original Owner, but they figured 49 years and 11 months was close enough!
I got the traditional bottle of red wine in a wood case having the from glass etched nicely.
    I didn't quibble!

In presenting the awards they do a nice job by having each winner drive thru the reviewing stand, announce the person and car, take their picture and present the wine.
    Just like Pebble Beach-almost!

This is a shot of some of the other cars and folks on the lawn.

The 1969 912 that we just finished was front and center on display. This must have been Deane's honeymoon since he told me they just got married prior to the show.

This is the fifth year since the Roadster has been done that I have attended. It is always a great place to meet folks. I can't believe the number who came up and said, I used to own a 356 but I let it go several years ago!
    They walk away sad!
Fontana 356 Holiday is next on the list!

Very nice. Thanks for posting the pics & descriptions. Do you have any info on the bus parked at the Lufteknic tent? Is it a shop truck? Congrats on the award. Is the bottle empty yet?

      Hey Mic,
Sure do have stuff on the BUS!
It is/was a 1956 VW Bus that received a 3.6 Porsche Engine, front end and rear end.
This is the donor 911 that the engine came from.
      It was rather wrecked!

It has been a long time project.
When it got finished last November 2013 late one evening the test run was around the block, load up and head for Tampa for the Bulli Brigade gathering at FT Desoto State Park.
Here is pic of the engine installed.

How about a 356 gas tank mounted in the rear:

After they got back from Tampa.
Note the beach dust on the top of the bus!

The current project is a 1979 930 that will have a Turbo Engine, roll cage, one seat and be street legal.
      and then a 1960 VW with a 356 90hp engine.
The 930 has to be done to go to Ocean City, MD the same weekend that the 356 Holiday is at Fontana.
I wet sanded all day on it.
The paint will be a Bahama yellow top, flat green front lid like the German WW1 biplanes had and the sides will be hand painted in a German WW1 camouflage .
Front and rear bumpers will match the cammie paint scheme!
Purple, red and yellow 'I think'!
      Pics when it is done!
The roll cage and interior is a flat almost irridesent red.
Marshall, from Crawford Racing, is doing the wiring as he did the bus.
This guy is neat to watch!
      Excellent workmanship!
      Enjoy!

        Whoops!
I didn't answer a couple of your questions.
Yes, it is a shop truck.
There is no muffler so it sounds like a WWII fighter!
The bottle has not been touched.
        I have four others.
Each has a label showing the cars that were the marque of the show-SO I save them and get my wine out of a box!
Here are a couple of other pics of the bus from the back.
        Check the rear window sticker.
