12-13-14 Mooneyes Xmas carshow and 1/8 mile drag at Irwindale Speedway. Craig and I went, Jack was suppose to go but got tied up with other obligations. I've got to run to another Xmas party with my family now, but I'll try and post pics soon.
Something went haywire with what I guess were movies you tried to attach. See you next Saturday at Jack's. I've inspired another 356/woodie owning couple to come up. I told them they'd have fun. They will. So will Rosemary and I. Tomorrow is the Malibu Woodie Christmas parade.
Be sure to post pix of tomorrows parade.
See you next Saturday !

Both Rosemary and I are very much looking forward to your annual party Jack. I created a Picasa photo album from the pix taken yesterday. I think Rosemary took them all as I was driving. She wound up using two cameras since a battery died in the middle. I discovered this morning that the time was about 10 hours out of sync on one of them so the photos are out of order. I've included a couple of pix here. The first is of a barrel back with vintage canoe atop. The owners have a very nice collection including a number of 356s that they display frequently to local car clubs.
Next I am sure Jack will like since it is a VW "woodie"/pickup truck/? The car and its owner are characters to be sure. He's one of many good guys we've met because of these old cars. His wife entertains us frequently with home made crepes.
The next car I remarked to the owner that it was nice to see a car whose paint was about like that on ours. He responded: "What paint?" Good answer.
The next is a photo of a 1946 Ford Sportsman. It was created out of a sedan and some modern running gear. He re-created that woodwork at his home to build it. Amazing. He is now building his 4th woodie from scratch when not taking time out to go skiing at Mammoth (he's in his 80s) - driving a split window Vette he bought new.
Finally, we were entertained at a local shoppping center with food given to us by Marmalade, a restaurant there (PLEASE patronize them if you're in town) and a local surf band, the HoDads.
Thanks Justin, I thought I had previously uploaded a video to the site directly, but obviously was wrong. Here are some of the cars that got our attention at Mooneyes.
